As of May 8, 2013, employers are now required to use the updated I-9 form (Rev. 03/08/13). A printable PDF version of the new I-9 form can be found here: http://www.yourextrahand.com/about-us/tax-formsresources/
The updated form was available on March 8th of this year but the US Citizenship and Immigration Services gave employers a 2-month grace period.
It is important that you use this form for new employee’s hired on or after May 8th as fines can run between $110 to $1,100 per violation for failing to comply with the form’s requirements. Government audits of employer I-9 forms rose from 250 in fiscal 2007 to more than 3,000 in 2012.
