Mac Tip: Check for Duplicates in Address Book

With all your Mac devices begin able to sync together, it is possible that you will find duplicate contacts in your Address Book. It is very simple to check and remove those duplicates.
- Open Address Book
- Choose Card
- Select Look for Duplicates
Address Book will do exactly that and product a list which indicates the number of duplicate cards and duplicated entries.
To manage those duplicates just click Merge, and the information from all the duplicated cards will be merged into a single card.
You will also see the option to merge cards that have the same name but may contain different contact information. Unless you know a lot of people with a common first and last name, go right ahead and enable that option. Those contacts will also be merged. That’s it, your Address Book is now free of duplicate contacts.
