Mac Tip of the Month: Where to Go When You Need Help

Posted on 25. Oct, 2011 by in MAC Tip, VirtualConnections Newsletter

For those new to the Mac environment or the veterans learning the new operating system features, here are some great resources if you need additional support.

Apple SupportApple has a great Support page with an extensive collection of knowledge base articles, manuals, as well as video clips walking you through the process. If you are having a hardware issue, you will also find information for contacting AppleCare.

The Genuis Bar. What can I say about the people who work at the Apple Retail Store Genuis Bar. They truly have seen every problem imaginable and will do all they can to resolve your problem. If they are unable, they can make arrangements to get your Mac product to a repair facility.

Apple Discussion Forums. On the Apple website there is a discussion forum area – discusssions.apple.com.  The discussion forum is not moderated by Apple but there are some pretty smart people there to lending a helping hand. As with any discussion forum, explain your problem as thoroughly as possible and be polite.

Macworld Forum – Macworld, the premiere Mac publication, also has a discussion forum. Forums.macworld.com.
