Now is a good time to do an annual checkup on your credit report.

Everyone has a file with the three major credit bureau’s – TransUnion, Equifax and Experian. It is important to check these reports because the information on them can affect your credit scores, which determines the interest you pay on credit cards, your mortgage loan, auto loan, etc.

You are eligible to receive one report from each of the three credit bureaus each year. You may want to stagger this by ordering a report from one of the bureaus every four months, so add this task to your calendar so you don’t forget.
