Windows Tip of the Month: Browse the Internet from Outlook
Posted on 13. Oct, 2008 by Linda in Windows Resources/Tips
Did you know that you can browse the internet from Outlook? If you are using versions 2002, 2003 and 2007 – you can. Perhaps you are reading an email and a Website is mentioned that you want to check out. Instead of closing Outlook and opening your Web browser, you can view the site directly from Outlook.
First you need to display the Web toolbar which is located under the View menu, Toolbar submenu, click on Web.
To switch to the Internet in Outlook when you are in the calendar, task list or email area, simply enter a Web address into the Web toolbar and hit the Enter key. The main screen immediately becomes a Web browser. You will see that the Outlook Bar/Navigation Pane is still visible to the left.
To return to your desired Outlook function (email, calendar, contacts), simply click Outlook Bar/Navigation Pane as usual.
