Tips/Links of the Month: Capturing Screen Shots
Posted on 06. Feb, 2007 by Linda in Windows Resources/Tips
Do you ever ask yourself why when you hit the Print Screen key it does not print the image displayed on your screen to your printer? To enable the Print Screen function, you have to save the image to the clipboard and paste it into a document.
Sometimes abbreviated as PRTSC or Prt Scr, the print screen key is a keyboard function key found on most computer keyboards.
To print a screen shot, use the following procedure:
- Maximize the window you’d like to capture.
- To copy/capture the current window, hold down ALT + Print Scrn at the same time. To capture the entire screen, just press Print Scrn.
- Open a new document in MS Word, Microsoft Paint, or Adobe PhotoShop.
- Paste the screen shot by holding down CTRL and V at the same time.
- Print the document.
